Ring Ring? It's Bling

In honor of our Aggies getting their rings this past weekend, let’s talk about upping your ring game. Rings have evolved dramatically over the past few years, with new designs and trends coming out with every season and anyone can find a ring style that suits them. It’s all about building your “ring identity”, so finding rings that suit your personality and show your uniqueness is key. These small accessories have a way of adding flair and glamour to any outfit, and there are endless combinations. Here are some ways to build your ring wardrobe.

Mixing Metals

Putting together a set of gold and silver rings is a great way to build a unique look. While the metals complement each other, they also provide a subtle edge that can match any look. It is all about balance, so whether you are stacking gold and silver onto one finger or alternating between fingers, it is important to keep a balance between the two metals to keep a cohesive look. An all-gold set of rings provides a look of elegance, but for an everyday look, it can be a bit too much. Mixing gold and silver is a way to take a chic, high-class look and a more classic look, and combine them to make the perfect everyday set.

Buying from Small Creators

Support small creators/businesses while also finding unique rings to build your ring wardrobe. Small creators are a wonderful source to buy from when you want something that no one else will have. If you are searching for your “ring identity”, buying from small creators off of websites such as Etsy or even local markets is a great place to start. You can find an interesting, hand-made piece that is in and of itself a work of art. And if real gold/silver is not in your budget, the clear nail polish hack is an amazing way to keep your fingers from turning green.

Invest in Staple Pieces

Experimenting with finding pieces from small creators is a good way to find your “ring identity”, but when you have finally found your look, investing in a staple piece is the next step. Once you have tackled the look you want, find timeless, investment pieces to build your permanent collection. While buying a lot of cheap rings to experiment with your look is fun, a piece that will last over time will stay in your collection forever. A good quality metal will stand against the wear and tear of daily use, and also continue to shine bright and untarnished. Over time, you can add more and more investment pieces to your collection until you finally have your staple “ring wardrobe”.

Jewelry can be expensive and when you consider buying a piece, you want to make sure that you will still like it years later. If you are unsure about what type of pieces you want to add to your look, experiment with budget-friendly rings first and then invest in staple pieces later. Rings are a great way of adding a subtle edge and flair to your look as they can really show off your personality in an amazing, everyday way.
