The Art of the Sneaker

As much as we love a chic strappy sandal look or a fierce boot moment (see: The Mock Croc Trend), there are some days that call for a comfortable athleisure look paired with the cutest sneakers. If there’s one thing we could take away from the latest fashion trends, it’s that comfort and style can, in fact, go hand in hand - starting with footwear. The debut of Nike Air Jordan 1 in 1985 became a touchstone for sneaker culture and has since become an entity in and of itself for shoe lovers. You don’t have to be a sneaker aficionado to appreciate the versatility of a stylish and comfy shoe - here are our top picks for this spring season.

New Balance 574v2

Calling all ~minimalist~ aesthetic people here. The New Balance 574 is simple yet snazzy. Paired with a cute flared legging or cotton shorts, these shoes bring together a casual fit. The plus - this model meets the New Balance green leaf standard, meaning the upper is made up of 50% or more recycled content. For a more lavish version of this shoe check out New Balance 550.

Nike Blazer Mid 77 ‘Indigo’

No shoe truly screams spring like these Nike Blazers titled ‘Indigo’ from the 2021 Flora Collection. With the upper made of 100% recycled canvas, these kicks deliver the most sustainable take on the vintage shoe. Create a simple look in these with a crop tee and boyfriend jeans.

Nike Dunk Low

A true style staple, the Dunk Low includes multiple colorways that will bring a pop of color to any outfit. Honorable pastel mentions are ‘University Blue’ and ‘Laser Orange’.

A staple pair of sneakers is a must in any wardrobe. So find any brand, color or style that fits your own style and you may find it a little more exciting to get your steps in for the day.
