All You Need to Know About Staying ~Trendy~

The internet is a key tool for letting us know which direction fashion trends are headed. We can look at many different sources to guide us on shopping trips. Whether it’s from Instagram influencers, models on the runway, or directly from the items in the store, there are plenty of avenues to gather prêt-à-porter (ready-to-wear clothes items) into our closet and continue to stay in style.

Celebrities pose a great deal of influence. Our favorite “it” girls lead the fashion industry by having the latest up and coming looks. Following our most trendy celebs on their social media gives us the scoop on how they are keeping up with the changes of the season and an inside look into upcoming trends.

Alike, magazines are a foolproof way to track the runways and see what designers have ready in store for us. Designers showcase their pieces on the runway and if one or more provides a similar color palette, fabric, or style within their line it can be a sign of a trend. Keep up or subscribe to a magazine to receive news on fashion alerts to stay in the loop. Some magazines you can follow are A-Line Magazine, Vogue, ElleUSA, and Cfashionista on Instagram.

Lastly and most easily done: follow your favorite influencers! These are the individuals on Instagram and TikTok that will express their own style and incorporate it with trends. Some trends can be seen continuously with all influencers as they make these trends their own, fitting them to their body type, aesthetic, and style. This is the simplest way to be notified of what’s making a comeback or what’s current. Once you see leather pants on two or more influencers, for example, that is a quick cue that a new trend is emerging.

When seeing the next trend start, whether that be on Instagram or TikTok, on an influencer, or in a magazine, be ready to incorporate and level up the ones you love. On your wardrobe revamp, remember that trends are never exclusive to specific body types or celebrities—fashion is universal.
