Cold Weather Calls for Colorful Clothes

We recently had our first cold front—and it was amazing. It’s time for rainy mornings with warm lattes and of course, all the sweaters. With this fall weather, lazy and cozy days are inevitable. Grey sweats and fuzzy sweaters make it really hard to want to get out of bed sometimes. While the seasons changing makes our moods change, there's good news: cozy weather doesn't have to lead to unproductive days.

There is evidence supporting the fact that certain colors can actually boost your mood. So how can this be incorporated into our daily fits? Although fall and winter call for cooler, dark tones, these colors can tend to have a negative effect on our emotions. We can all agree that grey is one of the more dreary colors, yet that [grey] cable knit sweater seems to always be the go-to when the temperature starts dropping. Having a mix of both dark and colorful tones is key to looking balanced, and up to trend with the current season.

Red

This powerful hue serves as the epitome of fall color by incorporating festive vibes, yet looking fierce at the same time. If you need an extra boost of confidence, try wearing a red sweater or blazer (a pouty red lipstick also goes a long way). It’s sometimes difficult to find motivation when the days seem shorter and darker, but if you go out feeling confident, your mood can instantly turn around for the better!

Orange

The color orange screams fall, and should totally get more credit. With its warm hues, orange is the ultimate mix of cozy, yet vibrant. A pair of orange heels, or even just a sweater, give off positive and energetic vibes that will have you and everyone around you inspired to live colorfully. Mixing orange with black or brown boots and jeans makes for the complete fall fit that isn’t too neutral or bland. Even though the weather may be pretty gloomy, we don’t have to dress or feel as such.

Pink

Bright, girly, and definitely a confidence booster, pink should be incorporated into everyone’s wardrobe. With fall and winter styles consisting of darker shades, wearing pink will definitely make you stand out. A sparkly rose blouse or even a pair of soft pink leather pants can seamlessly be infused with fall styles. Say goodbye to that sad grey sweater this season and spice it up a little with something that pops.
