A Blissful Guide to Spring Activities

After what felt like a lifetime, we’ve survived the harshness of Snowvid, some exhausting midterms, and finally made it to spring! Although the knit sweaters and hot cocoa will definitely be missed (until next season, of course) one thing is certain: we’ve never been more excited for longer days filled with sunshine. Flower picking? Picnics? Say less. In a combination of radiant and blissful, this is our ultimate guide to spring activities.

Spring Photoshoot

Sundresses, straw hats, sandals, oh my! Grab a few friends and enjoy a photo session. Here are a few picturesque ideas that your Instagram will thank you for.

  • Lorde wasn’t bluffing when she said, “Let’s go down to the tennis courts.” The tennis court scene is a cute and sporty way to spice up your feed.

  • Whether it’s florals on your top or actual flowers in the back pocket of your jeans, this trend is everything.

  • Let’s take it back to OG quarantine because honestly, the outdoor mirror selfie trend gave the best lighting.

Picnic in the Park

We owe it all to TikTok for this one. Who would have ever thought of cutting a cake with a wine glass? If there’s a charcuterie board involved, we’re there. Oh, and don’t forget to add a cute wicker basket to tie together the most enchanting spring picnic.

Farmers Market

The #supportsmallbusiness and #shoplocal hashtags have taken over various social media platforms, and rightfully so. Keep the movement going by visiting a local farmer’s market for fresh and authentic pick-me-ups. Clear your Tuesday schedule, because The Local Lake Walk is the perfect place to visit in the Bryan/College Station area.

Flower Picking

Nothing says spring quite like fresh blooming flowers. Here is a list of locations that you need to visit during this beautiful time. As for our major Texas fanatics, it’s Bluebonnet season!

  Texas Tulips

Sweet Berry Farm

Basecamp Farms

Marble Falls Bluebonnet Cafe  (a blend of scenic bluebonnet highways and comfort food. Count us in.)

Make a Spring Playlist

It’s time to put “Sweater Weather” by The Neighbourhood in the vault for a few months. Curating a new and upbeat spring playlist will give you all the positive vibes needed to tackle the rest of the semester. Surfaces music goes lyric to lyric unraveling layers of creative talent and they just so happened to live right across from A&M itself. Big WHOOP! to that.
